In many places, there are towns that for some reason became desolate and later became known as “Haunted Towns.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Some of the most famous ghost towns in the world due to their horror.  This town in Bodie, California, USA, is today a popular tourist destination called Bodie Historic Park, which is visited by about 200,000 tourists annually.

The town is based on a gold mine camp. The fall of gold was discovered in 1859, by a group of miners who discovered gold in the area. In 1876, gold began to be extracted from the regular mines and unscrupulous people flocked here to find gold.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Began to do so and thus the place became a town instead of a camp.  Population reached about 5,000 to 7,000 and about 2,000 buildings were built.                                                                                                                                                                                                      Sixty-five saloons were set up in the bazaar. The morgue near Body's Cemetery was the only red brick building in town.

Ghost Town Bodie

The main bazaar also had a union hall for miners' union meetings and other social and entertainment events. The Union Hall has now been turned into a museum. In the 1880s, when gold mines began to be dug in other areas, the “body” slowly began to decline and the people living here became rich overnight.                                                                                                                                                    They turned to other places where new gold mines were waiting for them. In 1910, the population was reduced to 698. The last newspaper was published here in 1912 and the last gold mining company closed in 1913.

In 1908, Zachary Lewala, a railway worker, found a diamond while working in the area, which he showed to his German supervisor, August Stoic.  Thus, the area became the focus of German mining companies.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        The German government soon declared the area a no-go area and began searching for diamonds.
